"Don't let the fat chick beat you"?

I have been racing for about 5 years now. I am not a typical runner or even triathlete. I fight with serious medical conditions every step of the way, but each step makes me stronger. I have two boys both with special needs and I have learned to chalk that up to making me stronger as well.

It is with sad heart that I must report that lupus has won the battle this year, but trust me when I say the war is far from over! My racing days are not over by any stretch of the imagination. This is just a minor setback that will make me stronger.

I was 1.18 pounds away from my first goal (1.18 pounds away from a new yoga mat!)

I am sad to report that I am now 3.58 pounds away from my new yoga mat. Yup! I successfully put on 2.4 pounds this week. So it is time to think about what went wrong this week!
#1 – I am still horrible at tracking my food.
#2 – Weekends are blown out the window.
#3 – I have not been consistent in getting some sort of physical activity in every day (my knee flare up didn’t help that one!)
#4 – I have been snacking on a lot of saltier snacks and I know my body doesn’t handle salt well.
#5 – Nighttime snacking, very bad! I really need to work on that.
So, this week I will work on entering everything, to include nighttime snacks, into my tracker. I will be permitted to have my dessert if and only if I have the points available for it (without cutting into my weekly points or activity points).
Activity – if I do not get my workout in during the day, I will Kiddo #1 out for a walk. I am sure Kiddo #2 will want to come along too, which is fine!
Those are the two things I am going to work on this week.

  1. Suggestion - If you get up to get a snack, have a glass of water instead. Give yourself say 20 minutes to drink it. If you're still hungry (really hungry) after the 20 minutes, then have a snack. Otherwise, get out of the kitchen!
