"Don't let the fat chick beat you"?

I have been racing for about 5 years now. I am not a typical runner or even triathlete. I fight with serious medical conditions every step of the way, but each step makes me stronger. I have two boys both with special needs and I have learned to chalk that up to making me stronger as well.

It is with sad heart that I must report that lupus has won the battle this year, but trust me when I say the war is far from over! My racing days are not over by any stretch of the imagination. This is just a minor setback that will make me stronger.

New Pair of Running Socks!!!!

According to Weight Watchers I now have 7.8 pound before I hit their goal. Mind you they break it down differently than I would, but that is ok. To hit my first goal I have 4.58 pounds to go because at the weigh in last night I lost 5 pounds! Yes, exactly 5 pounds! That is even with me having a horrible eating weekend AND not being able to get my workout yesterday because I had to take a sick kiddo to the doc. This week I going to focus on writing EVERYTHING down! I know some of the weight at first will fall off and then I will level out, I am fine with that. Yes, this weight came on quickly, but I am more than happy to take my time getting it off (that way it will stay off!).
I have to say, I have a friend who is starting a program and was VERY brave and posted a before set of pictures, I would love to have that courage, but I am just not there. I haven’t even taken my before shots! I keep planning on doing it but never get around to it. I would be more than happy to post my goal picture, but I don’t think that counts for anything!!!!
Got to the gymlet today, but I am not hitting the pool (I think I might be getting an ear infection, so I will stay out of the water!)

  1. Oh so I'm VERY brave...not slightly crazy! It's very scary, but somewhat liberating. I know I'm fat. Everyone can see that I'm fat even with clothes on. The pictures just put the cards on the table. It's all out in the open! Now I have to make the change!
